GE Aerospace Military Derivative Engine - Certification Leader in West Chester, Ohio

Job Description Summary

The Certification leader of the Military derivative engine program will be a member of our Services Engineering organization in the Systems Engineering team. They will partner with the Defense engine military team to complete the design and certification effort for a new military derivative of an existing commercial jet engine. This role has a high impact to the GE Aerospace business and for our customer. This individual will work closely with a cross functional team to ensure the new military derivative engine meets all certification requirements on time.

Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Willingness to learn and develop specialized knowledge in the certification discipline to support this critical military application.

  • Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.

  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.

  • Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited college or university.

  • At least 6 years of engineering experience.

Desired Characteristics

  • Prior Aerospace Industry certification experience.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.

  • Established project management skills.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
