The Assistant Server provides fast, efficient and crisp service delivering food, bussing and keeping service stations neat and organized. The position requires a service professional able to support the Bartenders and Servers while enhancing the guest’s experience.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Restaurant General Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service

  • Sets up service stations and ensures bussing of stations throughout the shift

  • Assists bartenders with maintaining stocks, changing kegs, collecting empty glasses, re-stocking ice and food service

  • Assists servers with food service, bussing, maintaining stocks and clean glassware

  • Full knowledge of Food & Beverage menus and offerings

  • Creating a welcoming atmosphere

  • Assists with guest enquiries

  • Review daily reports, arrivals, VIP’s, and groups in house

  • Other duties as assigned

Employee Status

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience required as an Assistant Server in a fast-paced, high-end restaurant / luxury property and/or substantial Fairmont food & beverage experience (minimum of 6 months) in a high volume Assistant Server capacity

  • Operational knowledge and proficiency in Point of Sale System an asset

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment, while working cohesively as part of a team

  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift

  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50lbs

  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting

  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

  • Ability to stand and be mobile for up to 8 hours

  • Ability to move quickly and efficiently
