Description:

• Support shipboard electrical power and machinery control systems and equipment.

• Provide design support for integration of equipment in an industrial/shipboard environment.

• Develop programming and equipment standards for shipboard electrical power generation, control and distribution systems.

• Prepare technical documentation such as reports, procedures and test plans in support of all aspects of shipboard electrical power generation, control and distribution systems.

• Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing shipboard electrical power generation, control and distribution systems and equipment.

• Participate in requirements development and design reviews to document system issues and revise design specifications and other detailed documentation for new systems and modernization efforts.

• Contribute to proposal development by providing generation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS’s), Bill of Materials, and labor estimates for shipboard electrical power generation, control and distribution system upgrades.

• Communicate effectively with team members in software engineering, hardware engineering and program management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or prior Navy experience can replace the degree.

• 4+ years of experience working with shipboard electrical power generation systems.

• Proficient knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures associated with US Navy and commercial shipboard electrical power generation, control and distribution systems.

• Ability to generate and maintain complex electrical drawing schematics for shipboard drive systems and switchboards.

• Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues related to shipboard electrical power generation, control and distribution systems and equipment.

• Ability to execute PLC driven systems for machinery controls.

• Ability to travel 30% of the time. OCONUS related travel.

• Ability to obtain an active secret clearance.
