OVERVIEW

The Commercial Front Load Driver operates a (straight truck) Front Load Trash Truck in accordance with DOT Regulations, Company policy, and in accordance with established standards for excellent customer service.

Pay is based on experience! This is an early morning start time to the route the ability to have an early completion time. This is a self managed position that ensures goals are hit and customer service is the number priority.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive a front-load trash truck according to established subscription routes or municipal territories, servicing all customers as listed on daily route sheets, special orders, and regular work orders.
• Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the truck
• Operates the truck in accordance with all local, state and federal DOT regulations, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations. Transports and dumps municipal wastes and/or recycling at a regulated transfer station or approved landfill.
• Coordinates regularly with the Dispatcher to ensure all stops are picked up, and to receive any special instructions. Checks in with Dispatch prior to completion of route before returning to the depot.
• Obtain load weight tickets and sign for loads.
• Maintains any related records required, i.e. driver's log, route sheets, work orders, special request work, missed pick up logs, etc.
• May be required to exit and enter truck multiple times during a shift, and may be required to push/pull wheeled containers weighing up to several hundred pounds into position for pick up.
• Performs daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections as outlined by the company.
• Reports any vehicle maintenance issues to the route supervisor or operations manager.
• Immediately reports to the company any accident, traffic violation, or license suspension.
• Other duties as assigned from time to time by route supervisors or company management.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A valid PA Commercial Driver 's License (CDL Class B or equivalent) with air brake endorsement.
• Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen and motor vehicle record review.
• Requires a high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of the vehicle to prevent damage to truck, equipment, or surrounding items.
• Ability to sit in the cab of the truck for long periods. Able to bend, stoop, and climb into and out of the vehicle and body unassisted multiple times a day.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
