Participates in the planning and implementing of major facilities' construction/renovation projects to ensure the safe and effective placement of imaging equipment and efficient operations. Monitors staff performance and participates in the development of competencies, performance standards and imaging protocols for the department.
Directs the application of diagnostic imaging technology and regulatory standards.
Maintains policies, protocols and procedures to meet regulatory standards, ensuring equipment and procedures are safe, functional and capable of meeting the diagnostic needs.
Participates in the planning and implementing of major facilities' construction/renovation projects to ensure the safe and effective placement of imaging equipment and efficient operations.
Monitors staff performance and participates in the development of competencies, performance standards and imaging protocols for the department.
Bachelor or Master's degree (or equivalent imaging-related experience and education) required
Current California Technologist certification required
If the state in which you are applying offers no applicable state licensure, then corresponding registration in national modality (ARRT or NMTCB or ARDMS) is required.
Five (5) years of experience in Diagnostic Imaging required
Three (3) years of experience in managing/supervising diagnostic imaging services required
Working knowledge in medical terminology required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (must be certified through the American Heart Association)
Knowledge of imaging techniques, processes and procedures used in diagnostics; ability to produce images of internal body structures for clinical purposes or medical science
Knowledge of radiology and applicable laws and regulations governing proper materials storage, handling and disposal as well as radiology-related conduct; ability to demonstrate ethical behavior in diverse situations
Knowledge of and ability to manage radiology departmental operations to achieve high performance and reach quality goals
Knowledge of radiation safety regulations, principles, techniques and nuclear materials handling; ability to practically apply this knowledge to resolve safety issues
