Responsibilities
- The Medical Laboratory Technician performs clinical testing in one or more of the followinglaboratory areas: Chemistry; Serology; Microbiology; Hematology; and Urinalysis.
- A technicianobtains or receives specimens, performs clinical laboratory tests by standardized procedures,understands method principles, performs quality control, performs preventive maintenance andinterprets results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits.
- The technician works with theMedical Technologist and supervisor organizing work to meet established deadlines and recordsnecessary data.
- Under the direction of the section or shift supervisor, responsible for one 8 hour shift, 5 days per week.
- Incumbents are subject to working any shift, weekends, or holidays, and overtime as required by the director.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- AS in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent, with approved clinical laboratory training.
- Nationally recognized certification credentials or equivalent.
- Comply with regulatory requirements, guidelines, and policies
Preferred Job Requirements:
