Bloomberg LP Technical Specialist - Infrastructure Support Engineer in Piscataway, New Jersey
Position Duties: Responsible for the quality of the data center service through learning and understanding the site to manage events that put our critical systems at risk. Monitor, assess, respond and escalate issues in order to maintain infrastructure reliability and resilience. Organize communication and provide knowledge to support problem follow-up and data center activity. Perform activity impact and risk assessment along with service notification at the appropriate level of awareness. Maintain accuracy of documentation and recorded details of physical assets and connections. Detect, investigate, and drive operating system issues affecting production equipment availability. Perform hardware level activity including investigation, maintenance and repair of server, network components and data cabling. Develop familiarity with the critical systems at each data center to provide a high-level response and escalation.Job Requirements: Position requires a Master’s degree or the foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related and Six (6) months of experience in the job offered, as a Data Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or related.Must have Six (6) months of experience in each of the following skills: Linux or Unix; Grafana or Splunk; Scripting; Layer2 and Layer 3 network concepts; Server and network hardware replacement; and Networking experience utilizing Cisco IOS and JunOS.Rate of pay: $95,000 - $150,000 / year
