Our Green Infrastructure and Resiliency Team is growing! This position offers a terrific opportunity for career growth, client interaction, and working with a progressive team of professionals who continually seek to improve public spaces with the most current best practices. Our project portfolio includes the new Delaware River Trail on the east side of Philadelphia, many public parks throughout the city and region, green stormwater projects throughout Philadelphia and the mid-Atlantic region, the Camden County LINK trail, Essex-Hudson Greenway, and many other exciting public projects within the region.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Civil Engineer with Green Infrastructure expertise to help us lead green infrastructure planning and design projects and support other projects involving site planning and design needs for our projects led by our landscape architecture and active transportation engineering teams in our Philadelphia office.

The position will focus mainly on the design of public spaces, including parks, trails, and green stormwater infrastructure. The ideal candidate, however, should also have an interest and willingness to help our office grow with private sector clients who are aligned with our belief that communities should be planned and designed sustainably, holistically, and equitably.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, assisting our engineering team with the following:

Leading Planning and Conceptual Design Studies which include high-level analysis, writing of technical reports, and presentations. Leading the progression of schematic level to final construction documentation design Performing technical reviews of deliverables, including design drawings, calculations, cost estimates, specifications, design reports, and permit application packages Mentoring junior staff Project management duties include budgeting, workload projections, tracking schedules, and invoicing. Collaboration with landscape architects, transportation engineers, and other technical experts in surveying, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, and environmental sciences. The position will require coordination with internal project team members within the Philadelphia office and possibly across several regional NV5 ofces, as well as subconsultants, public agencies, clients, participation in project meetings, and assisting other teams in the office as needed. The ideal candidate would possess the skills and desire to lead business development, including professional ne working, meeting with potential clients, and proposal writing, and generally enjoy helping us continue growing a team alongside other dynamic leaders passionate about improving our communities through planning and design. 

Qualifications

P.E. License BS or MS in Civil Engineering At least 8 years with relevant design experience Project management experience Procient in the necessary software and modeling programs Strong interest in multi-disciplined public space design Strong written and verbal communication abilities Our Philadelphia office is conveniently located in Center City Philadelphia, blocks away from City Hall and all SEPTA and PATCO rail lines.  Our employees are active volunteers in our communities, and we are proud to be selected as a "Bike-Phriendly" business by the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia. Many of our staff walk or bike to work, and our office is designed to accommodate these modes of commuting.

This is a full-time position. Salary is commensurate with experience.
