As an Accounts Payable Clerk Your Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Provide administrative assistance to the Accounts Payable A/P Finance Department

• Perform full-cycle Accounts Payable Clerk A/P

• Manage customer service tasks for internal business partners

• Sort, register, scan, and store invoices, checks, and other documents

• Open, sort, and distribute daily department mail

• Executed daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with company policies

• Assist with internal and external audits as needed

• Assist in the training of new staff members in the accounts payable processes and systems

• Maintain accurate records of all Accounts Payable transactions

• Verify, log, and send checks, including facilitating special handling

• Execute additional tasks as needed

Requirements

The ideal Accounts Payable Clerk candidate will have:

• Associates of Arts or Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

  • Strong understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) processes

  • Must have a strong understanding of basic accounting principles

  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience

  • Proficiency in using Sage 100 software is essential

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate financial records and prepare clear and accurate reports for informational, auditing and operational use

  • Ability to reconcile accounts payable activities including but not limited to the tracking and proper expense allocation of purchase orders and invoices

• Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • High level attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial files

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
