The Tignanelli lab (within the Department of Surgery) focuses on the development of biomedical artificial intelligence and machine learning tools that can improve the quality and efficiency of clinical care. The lab is seeking a summer computer scientist intern to support two biomedical AI projects within the discipline of biomedical computer vision. Work requirements would primarily include (1) data pre-processing and supporting data analysis and (2) generation of reports and manuscripts related to the work conducted. Additionally, it is anticipated that this position will present at least one manuscript at a national conference at the end of the summer/fall of 2024. Duties/Responsibilities: Preparation and presentation of manuscripts, posters, and reports (40%) Machine Learning preprocessing, analysis and interpretation in biomedical NLP and computer vision (50%) Maintain familiarity with the literature including emerging computational tools and machine learning approaches (10%) The start date for this position is June 3rd, 2024 and will conclude on August 30th, 2024.
