Job Description:

As an Entertainment Operations Manager at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of performers, musicians, and other entertainers. Working closely with artists, your role is to ensure their optimal preparation for performances and appearances, creating a seamless and memorable experience for attendees. At ASM Global, we provide our clients with a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience. We’re looking for an experienced entertainment manager to join our team and help us continue to provide this unique service. The ideal candidate will have a background in event planning and management, as well as a keen eye for detail. They will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the entertainment experience, from booking talent to managing logistics. They will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with our clients, ensuring that their needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of events, from inception to completion.

  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure services are delivered within budget and agreed-upon terms.

  • Ensure smooth operations, including scheduling rehearsals, performances, and technical elements.

  • Collaborate with Entertainment Marketing Manager to develop strategies reaching target audiences through various channels while ensuring oversight within your scope.

  • Manage budgets, collaborating with event departments, conversion, stagehands, designers, and professionals to stay within budget guidelines.

  • Evaluate event success based on factors like ticket sales, attendance, and customer satisfaction.

  • May negotiate as directed by the Assistant General Manager to produce contracts with talent, production companies, and industry professionals to secure performers for events.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED certificate; a bachelor’s degree in entertainment, communications, or business is advantageous.

  • Training & Experience: On-the-job training, including learning policies, procedures, and relevant technology.

Skills:

  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with clients, entertainers, and staff.

  • Technical: Proficiency in relevant equipment and technology.

  • Leadership: Motivate teams to work collaboratively toward common goals.

  • Problem-solving: Anticipate and address potential issues during event planning.

  • Business: Strong financial management, marketing, and strategic planning skills.

Work Environment:

Varies based on the entertainment venue, with potential for long hours, including evenings and weekends, especially during special events.
