SCHOOL DISTRICT OF HORICON Speech and Language Pathologist in HORICON, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Horicon School District is seeking a passionate educator for a full-time, K-12 Speech and Language Pathologist for the 2024-25 school year. The School District of Horicon prioritizes engaging, differentiated instruction driven by school assessment data, and educators who can demonstrate creativity, enthusiasm, and the ability to work collaboratively are desired. Must be able to create systems that encourage students to work to the best of their abilities and take pride in their achievements and provide a stimulating environment in which students learn, interact and grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The Speech and Language Pathologist must have: - Understanding of various speech and language disorders, assessments, and intervention strategies - A thorough understanding of the evaluation and IEP process - Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary for effectively collaborating with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals - Ability to work collaboratively with all staff and families - Proficiency in administering and interpreting assessments to diagnose speech and language disorders accurately, including knowledge of standardized tests, informal assessments, and progress monitoring tools - Familiarity with speech therapy software, assistive technology, and communication devices - Ability to develop, prepare, and implement appropriate services based on student needs - Desire to work in a student-centered, team-based positive environment - Attention to detail and timeliness - Ability to collect, use, and monitor student data - A commitment to continuous improvement through professional development As a progressive public school district built on a culture of continuous improvement, our staff is asked to continuously reflect on the needs of their students and are empowered to make adjustments to help every student be at or above grade level. Additional certification, such as the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred but not required.
