The Gaming NPI Manager candidate will be highly creative and extremely adept at bringing a story to life through compelling narratives and visuals around these devices, features, and experiences enabling our consumers to relate these benefits quickly and intuitively. Your primary goal is to ensure the press, channel partners, and global sales community have clear, concise information and assets to be informed, inspired, and engaged when promotion product/solution offerings. A simple yet compelling customer value proposition is required to ensure consumers understand which Gaming solutions (OMEN, Victus, OMEN Gaming Hub, HyperX) are offered, what their benefits are by segment, and how they compare with the competition.

You will be responsible for developing and executing NPI announcement plans and strategies while working closely with global product management teams, regional category leads, world-wide marketing, corporate affairs, insights, events and compete teams. You will need to have a solid understanding of the latest technologies/innovations, inclusive of Gaming Artificial Intelligence and how they are implemented in our innovative products.

As the Gaming NPI Manager, the candidate should demonstrate mastery on relevant subject matter knowledge. Contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas. Successfully operates in HP's most complex disciplines. Provides highly innovative solutions. Lead large, cross-division functional teams or projects that affect the organization's long-term goals and objectives. May participate in cross-division, multi-function teams. Provides mentoring and guidance to lower-level employees. Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and criteria for achieving objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Subject matter expert on the Gaming portfolio (OMEN, Victus, OMEN Gaming Hub, HyperX), HP Gaming Artificial Intelligence and experiences story for GTM, sales enablement and press

  • Subject matter expert on the gaming HW industry including gaming notebooks, desktops, displays, peripherals, popular gaming HW and SW. Works with product management to articulate where and how HP is stronger than our competition and why based on the current industry trends are products are meaningful and beneficial.

  • Maintain strong familiarity with competing products in comparison to our product offerings.

  • Deliver on the plan to support 4P portfolio strategy

  • Align messaging between product, marketing, gaming leadership

  • Actively participate in the collaboration and creation of Product, Persona, and Experience Narratives

  • Plan and drive all aspects of NPI integrated launch activities and events (CES, APC, Ignite, etc.)

  • Enable region category teams with required deliverables/tools & resources for GTM and sales enablement (HP sales & channel sales)

  • Establish launch and announce strategies & timeline

  • Track, review and approve all NPI and marketing assets

  • Maintain engagement model with stakeholder & partner organizations

  • Drive content and strategy when working with internal NPI teams, creative teams, and external agencies for asset development

  • Work with product managers during every stage of product development to help shape and develop a clear story for product NPI early in the development life cycle

  • Develops metric requirements for the product teams to help NPI better quantify the success of the NPI narrative and identify opportunities for improvement

Additional Leadership Responsibilities

  • Maintain and provide portfolio NPI Launch plans for management teams

  • Applies expert subject matter knowledge to manage NPI activities in solving business/technical issues within established policies.

  • Deliver integrated NPI (new product introduction) launch process excellence, working closely with product, regional and worldwide marketing and press teams.

  • Improve efficiency through process, tools, and collaboration.

  • Excellent cross-organization and communication skills required.

  • Able to distill a complex problem into succinct actionable steps towards a solution.

  • Passionate about the customer experience and enabling our sales organizations to delight our customers.

  • Mentors and leads other members of the organization both within the team as well as to partner organizations.

  • Interacts with senior executives within business groups and regions concerning matters of significance to the company.

  • Strongly influences peers and managers within the region, function, or business group.

Complexity

High - Extensive cross- functional/cross-organizational senior management, partner and/or customer interface; deals with complex strategic issues.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • 8+ years of experience in technology industry. Prior region, product management, NPI, marketing, comms experience is a plus.

  • College degree in Marketing/Business/Technical/Communication. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Proven experience creating messaging and narratives for world-wide organization that would be communicated to multiple levels of an organization. The ideal candidate has completed press training.

  • Experience in value proposition and storytelling a plus

  • Highly creative and demonstrated drive, confidence and risk taking

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and expertise in communicating across functions.

  • Proven program management and process development skills

  • Proven experience in successfully managing multiple priorities and deliverables

  • Prior people management experience is a plus

  • Proficient in image editing, graphics, and desktop publishing software

  • Collaborative leader and team player with demonstrated cross-organizational agility, especially working with product managers, R&D, designers, external agencies, marketing, and regional teams.

  • Ability to effectively persuade across organization boundaries, both horizontally and vertically.

  • Strong team player, self-starter, motivated, proactive, curious

  • Advanced PowerPoint skills. Design background preferable.

Per the California statute, the estimated range of compensation for this job in that location , at the time of this posting, is $120,00-180,000. This position may be eligible for incentive pay, for openings where this is applicable.
