Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Description

Our client located in the Fort Lauderdale area is looking for a great candidate and join their team on a temp basis. We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team and contribute to our continued success.

Job Description:

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing various aspects of the accounts payable process with precision and efficiency. Your duties will include:

  • Processing service invoices promptly and accurately, ensuring necessary approvals are obtained.

  • Handling A/P service invoices on a daily basis for biweekly check runs, including coding into appropriate GL accounts.

  • Managing asset purchase invoices, forwarding them to the Bookkeeper as required.

  • Processing employee travel and expense reimbursements.

  • Assessing USE tax on invoices when applicable.

  • Resolving any invoice discrepancies and vendor issues in a timely manner, collaborating with both vendors and Managers.

Additionally, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting the bi-weekly check run once a week, managing a high volume of checks and ensuring accuracy in all transactions.

  • Verifying bank account balances and facilitating inter-company bank transfers as needed.

  • Maintaining a system of daily reminders to ensure important payments are processed promptly.

You will also play a key role in assisting with month-end closing activities, ensuring that all A/P data entry is completed prior to month-end processing, and providing support in the mailing of monthly customer statements.

Requirements

Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), Check Runs, Coding Invoices, Data Entry, Invoice Processing, Microsoft Excel, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP

  • A positive, enthusiastic, and adaptable attitude.

  • Strong team player mentality with excellent communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Experience in FACTS and proficiency in Accounting Systems are advantageous.

  • Familiarity with office equipment such as printers, copiers, scanners, and mail machines.

  • At least 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger.

  • Strong knowledge of account reconciliation processes.

  • Dedication to personal growth and contribution of innovative ideas for departmental or company improvement.
