The analyst actively supports activities that serve to optimize the performance of Epic applications and technology in a way that best serves the needs of HMH. The analyst works closely with other technology professionals and end-users to clearly meet project expectations.

  • Acts as an application lead to offer a mix of skills from operational, technical, and leadership backgrounds and are the backbone of the project team.

  • This role is required to attend training and become experts in their field of expertise and are certified in their applications, which will enable them to work with end-users to deliver a product that meets strategic, organizational, and departmental goals.

  • Application leads are involved with making build decisions that affect the project at the application level (with close communication with project leads).

  • Serves as a liaison between end-users and Epic implementation staff.

  • Primary support contact for the application.

  • Adheres to change management methodology.

  • Works with the project team and end-users to validate workflows.

  • Leads system build and configuration based on base build.

  • Proactively communicates potential issues, plans for resolution, status updates and their effect on the department to customers and management.

  • Identifies and documents all issues (operational/system) that arise in the application area.

  • Works closely with Project Lead to coordinate and prioritize activities.

  • Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.

  • Escalates scope change requests to Project Lead.

  • Participates and/or leads Integrated Workgroups, as assigned.

  • Assists assigned customer areas in identifying potential benefits, re-engineering business and clinical workflows, developing procedures, and re-engineering business and clinical processes to achieve expected benefits of new and existing systems.

  • Provides hands on support to system end users with learned application knowledge and documents project issues.

  • As appropriate, prepares detailed functional specifications for all issue/ requests for development/modification to the specific system.

  • Supports development of test plans for all testing necessary for new systems or modifications to existing systems with direction from manager. Conducts test activities and assists users in the testing of all new systems and modifications completely before implementation into the production environment. Documents all testing efforts.

  • Possess strong analytical abilities.

Interested individuals must have strong intellectual capability, maturity and judgment, as demonstrated by their academic performance, professional experience, and other demonstrated achievements. Successful candidates will meet the following qualifications:

  • EpicCare Ambulatory certified preferred, MyChart, EpicCare Link, or Care Everywhere certified desired.

  • Bachelor Degree required, preferably in Information Technology or Computer Science, from an accredited institution with strong record of academic achievement.

  • 7+ years’ experience desired within EMR Systems or with familiarity of physician practice operations and workflows.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to learn new concepts and job requirements quickly

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

  • Excellent quantitative and analytic skills.

  • Willingness to travel overnight for educational classes and to work non-standard and/or extended hours.

  • Proficiency with programming and system building.
