Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Senior Accountant in the Financial Services industry, located in Chicago, Illinois. This role involves a range of accounting tasks related to partnerships and joint ventures, from managing transactions to developing financial statements. The Sr. Accountant will also work with specialized accounting software, Yardi, to input data and generate reports.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all accounting transactions for partnerships and joint ventures

• Prepare both consolidated and unconsolidated financial statements

• Apply a strong understanding of partnership accounting practices

• Perform waterfall calculations with an analytical mindset

• Prepare budgets and forecasts for financial planning

• Manage contributions and distributions of financial resources

• Input data into Yardi software and develop reports

• Perform account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation

• Prepare journal entries and manage the general ledger

• Execute month-end close procedures and handle bank reconciliations.

Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in Account Reconciliation

• Familiarity with General Ledger operations and management

• Ability to prepare and manage Journal Entries

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in Month End Close procedures

• Knowledge and experience in using Yardi software

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Proven experience in a similar role within the Financial Services industry
