SAIC Software Systems Engineer in CHANTILLY, Virginia

Description

SAIC is seeking a Software Systems Engineer SETA to provide SETA support to SAIC’s Prime Program, Landmark AOS in Chantilly, VA. Landmark AOS is a large SETA program, supporting the NRO’s Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED), responsible for the acquisition of systems over the complete end-to-end life cycle. All candidates must have an active Top Secret/SCI CI Poly.

As a Software Systems Engineer SETA , you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, reliability, and security of software systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain baselines for software systems, manage the configuration of tools used in the system, and ensure compliance with software development processes and cybersecurity requirements.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Ensure the stability, reliability, and security of software systems throughout their lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish baselines for software systems, including defining and documenting system requirements, configurations, and interfaces.

  • Implement and maintain configuration management processes and tools to track and control changes to software systems throughout their lifecycle.

  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure the integrity and consistency of baselined software systems.

  • Work closely with software development teams to understand their approaches and processes, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance with established standards.

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to identify and address potential vulnerabilities and risks within software systems.

  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of software development tools and technologies, considering their compatibility with configuration management processes and cybersecurity requirements.

  • Monitor and report on the performance and effectiveness of configuration management processes and tools.

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams on systems engineering best practices, configuration management, and software development processes.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and cybersecurity practices to continuously improve system baselining and configuration management approaches.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience. Relevant experience to be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • Active Top Secret Clearance with CI Polygraph.

  • (3) years of experience in Systems Engineering, with a focus on baselining software systems, configuration management, software development processes, and/or cybersecurity.

  • Solid understanding of systems engineering principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in configuration management tools and processes.

  • Familiarity with software development approaches and methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall.

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a plus!
