Description

We are seeking a skilled Access Database Developer to join our client's Shared Services Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Access databases to streamline and optimize various processes within the department. This role requires a strong background in accounting principles, proficiency in advanced Excel functionalities, and expertise in Access database development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Design and Development:

  • Design, develop, and implement Access databases to support various functions within the Shared Services Department.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into efficient database solutions.

  • Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity and security.

  • Process Automation:

  • Identify opportunities for process automation and develop solutions within Access databases to improve efficiency and accuracy.

  • Integrate Access databases with other systems and tools to streamline workflows.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Utilize advanced Excel functionalities to analyze large datasets and derive meaningful insights.

  • Develop reports and dashboards within Access databases to provide actionable information to stakeholders.

  • Generate ad-hoc reports as needed to support decision-making processes.

  • Documentation and Training:

  • Document database designs, processes, and procedures for future reference and training purposes.

  • Provide training and support to end-users on database usage and best practices.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.

  • Proven experience in database development using Microsoft Access, including database design, SQL querying, and VBA programming.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and macros.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a Shared Services environment or similar corporate setting.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data integration concepts.

  • Certification in Microsoft Access or related technologies.
