Job Description

The Media Director oversees PAID SOCIAL MEDIA and is the point of connection to the client. The Media Director leads, manages and mentors social team members, while working closely with all media channel team leads to drive the holistic business forward and foster growth. The Media Director will work directly with the channel teams to guide development of strategy, discover areas of partnership with key agency partners and ensure flawless execution for all client deliverables. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO CREATIVE CONTENT OR ORGANIC POSTING IN THIS ROLE.

Responsibilities

  • Main POC to the client and to internal stakeholders at Publicis Groupe

  • Lead forward thinking paid social ideas for client, ensuring team is incorporating media creativity and activation innovation into media plan development

  • Facilitate the development and documentation of paid social best practices to improve operational efficiencies within the team and the group

  • Participate in holistic planning sessions regarding client overarching strategy and approach, providing leadership, consultation and acting as a voice for social media

  • Ensure social initiatives are executed and managed to deliver and exceed client objectives

  • Uncover opportunities and grow business through thought leadership, and client expertise and consistent delivery of good work.

  • Steward client interest in the areas of tracking and delivering measurable social results and analytics, market knowledge, and audience insights

  • Establish and grow relationships with senior media clients, as well as be a key agency contacts and internal agency partners

  • Stays apprised of new technologies and trends and a keen understanding of social landscape to incorporate into media driven solutions and business building ideas

  • Manage and oversee monthly and end of campaign client billing, media budget reconciliations

  • Manages and mentors a team of up to 8 Media Planners and/or Media Managers

  • Provide leadership/motivation and convey the vision and values of the agency to media staff

  • Assure that the media staff adheres to established agency policies/procedures

  • Critiques, conducts reviews, performance evaluation of media team to ensure that effective, efficient and profitable staff operations are maintained; working closely with Associate Media Directors or Supervisors to provide mentorship and guidance to the team

  • Embodies Publicis Groupe values and cultivates them among the team

  • Manages workflow, efficient and profitable servicing of client(s), staffing levels, fosters healthy team structure, team assignments

  • Maintain excellent external professional relationships with media publishers and partners

Nature and Scope

  • Reports to VP, Social

  • Candidate must be in LA

  • This position will have up to 8 direct reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 7+ years of experience in digital Media Planning and/or Buying

  • Outstanding attention to detail and organizational abilities, ability to troubleshoot and provide feedback, guidance and solutions.

  • Knowledge of social and digital media

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Accountability and flexibility

  • Direct supervisory experience of at least 2-3 reports

  • Exhibits strong listening skills and the ability to tactfully communicate position on relevant issues

  • Encourages and rewards examples of teamwork and collaborative work efforts

  • Demonstrates ability to define and implement professional standards for team participation, conflict resolution, problem solving, and communication (internal and external).

  • Confident problem anticipation and resolution – willingness to have difficult conversations

Additional Information

Compensation Range: $140,000 - $145,000 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
