Job Summary:

The Environmental Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for the management and coordination of all activities as they relate to safety, health and environment at the site in order to reduce occupational injuries, illnesses and the accompanying financial losses.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the division of Environmental, Safety and Industrial Hygiene Programs and ensure compliance with all applicable government laws and regulations.

  • Serve as a consultant to managers and supervisors on accident-prevention and loss-control enhancements and provides interpretation of related policies and procedures.

  • Work with Human Resource to administer the Workers’ Compensation program.

  • Coordinate all training programs related to safety, ergonomics, accident prevention and first aid.

  • Evaluate, review, and make recommendations on proposed plant layouts, equipment and facilities, assuring the control of the hazards which are potentially existent in the storage, handling or use of toxic material and harmful agents.

  • Any other task assigned by supervisor or management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: Seven years’ experience in an aerospace or general manufacturing environment with progressive responsibilities.

  • Knowledge: Working knowledge of environmental management systems; Must possess a good working knowledge of code and federal & state OSHA regulations, including Life Safety Code, the Occupational Safety and Health Act and Workers’ Compensation laws.

  • Skills/Abilities: Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and oversight under tight time constraints; Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing to line and senior management.

  • Education/Certification: BS Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineer/Health, or Occupational Safety and Health required; Certified in hazardous material management, 40-hour HAZWOPER and environmental auditor.

  • Eligibility Requiremen t: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred

  • Experience in Machine Shop

Top Benefits:

Salary range: $127,700 to $155,300. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
