The Senior Engineer - EMC will join our world class EMC test facility for Milwaukee Tool Engineering and Development. This engineer will work within our new EMC lab, performing testing, developing procedures and best practices, engage with test request stakeholders, and assisting in training engineers.

You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-compliance Radiated testing and Conducted testing looking at both product emissions and immunity.

  • Create and drive continuous improvement of in house infrastructure of standards, processes, and best practices.

  • Mentor and coach others in engineering best practices for EMC.

  • Define and apply system requirements, modeling techniques, and architecture definitions as they relate to EMC.

  • Create clear and concise test reports and maintain a historical database of previous test results and reports.

  • Drive urgency in testing schedules and accountability for achieving key project metrics that meet the organization's needs.

  • Attend design reviews and provide EMC related input on circuit design, component selection, and PCBA layout.

  • Develop plans to evaluate and assess new to Milwaukee Tool technology currently under development.

  • Lead EMC debugging investigations to find root cause and suggest solutions for issues found during testing.

  • Ensure lab safety procedures are always adhered to by all personnel in the EMC lab

  • Review internal test reports for accuracy and completion.

What TOOLS you'll bring with you:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in EMC Engineering and Test.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, independent judgement, and ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment.

  • A never satisfied, always improving attitude.

  • Working knowledge of applicable standards for conducted and radiated testing of both product emissions and immunity requirements.

  • Strong experience working in an Accredited EMC lab, testing product and supporting day to day operations.

  • Experience with teaching EMC concepts to Engineers.

  • Experience with testing/ reporting EMC results for motors, drives, and power electronics.

  • Experience with EMC based modeling tools.

  • Ability to travel 10% of the time (domestic and international).
