Johns Hopkins University Program Coordinator in Baltimore, Maryland

We are seeking a Program Coordinator who will provide administrative support and perform program management and administrative duties necessary for the efficient operation of programs under the jurisdiction of the Office of Johns Hopkins Physicians (OJHP). OJHP coordinates the activities of the Clinical Practice Association, Johns Hopkins Community Physicians and all physicians now part of or joining Johns Hopkins Medicine (JHM). OJHP ensures that the necessary resources and coordination are in place to allow all physicians to support JHM and its mission. Current programs include, but are not limited to the Ambulatory Management Program, the Clinical Hospital Advanced Management Program, Clinical Excellence Awards, and programs under the OJHP Education Director. Responsibilities require significant collaboration with others. Will demonstrate knowledge of the informal and formal department goals, standards, policies and procedures and familiarity of other departments across JHM. Position requires sensitivity to the interrelationship of both people and functions across JHM. Responsible for the implementation of programs under general supervision and direction.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Program Planning & Coordination

  • Participate in program design, development, planning and implementation.

  • Identify program operational requirements. Obtain and utilize internal and external resources to meet program goals.

  • Serve as primary contact for the program with internal departments and external organizations.

  • Responsible for monitoring budget expenses, performing budget reconciliation, and assisting with budget development.

  • May compile information related to grants & contracts submission.

  • Exercise independent judgment in the resolution of programmatic problems.

  • May assist with planning special events/ functions, including workshops, conferences. Coordinate preparation, set up and logistics for these events/ functions.

Administrative

  • Coordinates and implements office services such as purchasing, records control, projects and budget accounting operations.

  • Analyzes unit operating practices such as record keeping systems, forms control, office layout, personnel requirements, creating new systems or revising established procedures.

  • Interprets and communicates operating policies.

  • Coordinates collection and preparation of financial and operations reports.

  • Locates and compiles information and formats reports, graphs, tables, records and other sources of information.

  • Assembles and categorizes facts and figures for written computation and calculations.

  • Operates personal computer to access e-mail, electronic calendars, and other basic office support software.

  • Uses various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.

Decision Making

  • On a regular and continuous basis exercises administrative judgment and assumes responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results having an impact on people, costs, and/or quality of service within the functional area.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time.

  • Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.

  • Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s)or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard.

  • Communication skills using the spoken word.

  • Ability to see within normal parameters.

  • Ability to hear within normal range.

  • Ability to move about.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required. College Degree preferred.

  • Five years progressively responsible related experience required. Additional education may be substituted for years of related experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

* JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

Starting Salary Range: $21.00 - $36.50 HRLY ($52,377 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
