The Business Risk Management Intern will be a key contributor within the Business Risk Management (BRM) Department. This position helps provide insights to management for making sound business decisions based on an understanding of the consequences and opportunities of business risk

Job Description

Position Responsibilities

  • Participate in interviews with business process owners to better understand business processes being assessed as part of a BRM engagement. BRM engagements include internal audits and consulting services

  • Gather and analyze risk and control information related to business processes being assessed

  • Create audit work papers to support the analysis of risks and controls. This includes creating risk control matrices and using a risk management tool

  • Perform testing of controls associated with a business process

  • Research risk and control topics in support of audit and consulting engagements

  • Assist in identifying opportunities to perform data analytics using Excel or other data analytic tools

  • Participate on a small continuous improvement project

Position Qualifications

  • Junior pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management or similar field

  • A track record of excellent academic performance (GPA 3.0+)

  • Highly organized and adaptable with strong work ethic

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office tools – with emphasis in Excel. Experience with formulas, data manipulation, and pivot tables welcome, but not required

  • Solid communication skills

  • Self-directed, with strong personal management and organization skills

  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States for indefinite period without sponsorship

  • Must have ability to work full time during summer

  • Interns coming from greater than 50 miles from campus are eligible for subsidized housing
